  • Malaga, Spain (airport code AGP)

If you have lived in or visited Malaga before, no need to read this. Â For everyone else, I will try to brief some information to help with travel choices.

Malaga Airport (AGP) is approximately a 10 min cab ride to the centre of Malaga, which is where the wedding will be held. Paul and I will be staying in Los Boliches, which is my home town and is about a 20 min cab ride in the opposite direction. Â I will include hotel information for Malaga, near the wedding venue, and also for Fuengirola where my home is (30 min cab ride) should you choose to join us for longer :)

You can get a direct flight to Malaga from anywhere in Europe. For all the Americans (and mainly Texans!) your quickest choices are either London LHR or Paris CDG. Â Either route, pack a weekend supply of clothes in your hand luggage... just in case!

I have made the map a little more fun with icons that help to navigate you around the areas. The wedding will be in Malaga, but Paul and I will be in Los Boliches primarily.I have listed Hotels in Malaga, Los Boliches, Fuengirola, Mijas, Mijas Costa and Marbella.

We are organizing a shuttle from Los Boliches to the Castillo de Santa Catalina (wedding venue). If you want to stay nearer to us this would be the best option. The 2 hotels nearest to us in Los Boliches are Hotel Yaramar (4*) and Confortel Fuengirola (4*). These are right on the sea front. The Hotel Byblos (5*) in Mijas Golf is a great option if you want to throw in some golf, but is not close to the sea. Marbella is not too far away either (about 30-40mins drive from Los Boliches) and there is a greater selection of high end Hotel and Resorts along with more golf and beach options. Malaga has a very nice Parador Hotel that has fantastic views of the city and the sea. The old downtown area has many more options; Hotel Larios and Hotel Malaga Palacio are both very well located.

I use www.rumbo.es when looking for flights or to reserve hotels in Spain (it is in Spanish). Search for hotels in Fuengirola. Also check out www.andalucia.com, which is in English, as Granada, Sevilla and Cordoba are only a 1-2hr train ride away and are worth seeing!  Â

Any questions on booking/locations feel free to email me at wedding@froutan.com       Â
